Day 01 Leave your country to Trivandrum to Poovar: Arrive Trivandrum in the morning , Upon arrival, assistance by Discovery Journeys manager , garland welcome and straight drive to Poovar ( about 32kms / 1hr ) through the interior roads of Trivandrum. Upon arrival in Poovar, take a motor boat to reach The Island Resort ( About 2kms / 5Minutes ) . Enjoy the cruise through the inland lagoons, check into the hotel. Rest of the day free to relax. Morning drive to Padmanabhapuram to visit the Palace - was once the capital of the State of Travancore. This is a well preserved wooden palace, a glorious testimony to the traditional Kerala school of architecture. The extraordinary 17th and 18th century murals, exquisite floral carvings and the black glossy granite floor have withstood the test of time. After that we will visit the Sucheendram Temple with its beautifully curved sculptors. Drive back to visit Vizhinjam, a historic spot which was left unnoticed for a long time. The only thing that has withstood time is a rocky temple, assigned to the period of the Cheras because of a strong influence of Pallava Pandya architecture. Back to Resort for overnight . O/n Resort

Early morning drive to Kanyakumari (about 90kms/03hrs), is India's 'land's end', the southernmost tip of the mainland. It is at the confluence of the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. On an offshore rock, in memory of Swamy Vivekananda, the Indian philosopher who had meditated contemplate here, stands Vivekananda Rock Memorial. Kanyakumari is the only place in India where one can watch the sun set and moon rise simultaneously on a full moon evening.

The legend reveals that virgin goddess Kanyakumari has watched over the land since the beginning of time, standing at the tip of the country, as if, an unending vigil, with the waters of the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal drawing to her feet. It is believed that here Goddess Parvathi in her incarnation as Devi Kanya practised penance so that she could marry Shiva. A temple stands here today, dedicated to the virgin goddess. Culture : The state's rich cultural heritage is manifest in its varieties of religious architecture - ancient Hindu temples with copper-clad roofs, later Islamic mosques with "Malabar gables" and colonial Portuguese Baroque churches.
